Space isn’t always metal.

A pair of #SBB🇨🇭 Cargo class 421 electrics is seen here working a southbound freight through #Rüdesheim 🇩🇪 on the right bank of the #Rhine river. These locos were originally built as class Re4/4II, mainly for hauling domestic passenger trains in Switzerland.

A few images of cornflower in the meadows at one of my local woods.

It's a newly planted woodland where 600k native trees were planted by volunteers on farmland to reconnect 5 relatively small ancient woods.

Species that were said to be extinct in Herts are now thriving there, with more than 80 bird & 29 butterfly species recorded to date. It's a great example of how quickly nature can recover with the right ingredients.

It's now 15yrs old. ♥️

A visual refreshment with this photo taken on Christmas Eve 2005: Swiss #RhB🇨🇭 #ABe4/4III unit #52 is working a Rhaetische Bahn service over the #Bernina line at 2,250 metres a.s.l. and temperatures way below freezing point.
Opening windows provided a very refreshing travel experience.
